Ten years have passed since the world lost a remarkable woman, Kathleen Ann Majerchin.
For the Face of Hope Foundation, her memory remains a constant source of guidance and inspiration. Kathleen’s faith, compassion, and generosity continue to influence every act of service the Foundation carries out today.
A Journey Defined by Purpose and Principle
Born on July 30, 1953, in Gary, Indiana, Kathleen grew up with strong family values and a faith that shaped her life’s purpose.
She graduated from Merrillville High School in 1971 and went on to enjoy a fulfilling 35-year career at General Motors before retiring to Florida.
Yet her greatest achievements were not professional; they were human. Kathleen devoted her time to serving others and standing for dignity, kindness, and community.
Her Commitment to Life and Humanity
Kathleen was deeply committed to the sanctity of life and to helping others.
As co-founder and managing partner of Luncheons for Life, she built a network that brought together advocates for life across Florida. Her leadership created a lasting space for dialogue, unity, and purpose.
Her generosity extended to the Face of Hope Foundation, where she became a steadfast supporter of programs that assist families in crisis. Through her contributions, the Foundation strengthened its outreach to feed the hungry and provide hope for the homeless in North Port.
Her compassion was practical, visible, and enduring, reflecting her belief that every act of kindness strengthens a community.
Faith That Moved Her to Serve
Kathleen’s faith was the cornerstone of her life.
At Our Lady of Lourdes, she served with the Legion of Mary, visiting nursing homes and offering friendship and prayer to those who often felt forgotten. She also gave her time to San Pedro Catholic Church, supporting several ministries and mentoring others in service and leadership.
Before joining the Face of Hope Foundation’s circle of supporters, Kathleen dedicated herself to SOLVE Maternity Homes, first as a House Mother and later as Development Director, guiding mothers and children toward security and self-sufficiency.
Her work was never about recognition. It was about serving others with humility, conviction, and love.
Carrying Her Light Forward
When Kathleen passed on October 30, 2016, at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Florida, she left behind a legacy of compassion that continues to shape the community she cherished.
Her influence remains visible in every life she touched, from the families who benefited from her service to her own loved ones: daughters Michelle Fesi and Jennifer Larson, her grandchildren Gabe, Lily, and Roark, her mother Carlene, and many friends and colleagues who remember her grace and generosity.
Kathleen’s faith-driven leadership endures in every outreach program, every act of giving, and every family helped through the Face of Hope Foundation.
A Decade of Remembrance and Gratitude
This tenth anniversary is both a remembrance and a celebration.
Kathleen Ann Majerchin’s values continue to shape the mission of the Face of Hope Foundation to defend dignity, restore hope, and serve the most vulnerable.
Her example reminds us that lasting change comes from compassion in action. The meals shared, the homes restored, and the hands extended in kindness all carry her influence forward.
Her memory encourages us to keep believing in the power of service and to continue the work she began with unwavering faith.
